Day 49: You Will Yell in Frustration When Bicycles Start Passing You By in Jakarta Traffic.

May 21st, 2011
Days Left to Journey: 2 Days

When a Wish List is Fulfilled a Spoiled Child Emerges.

Bikes from Polygon Cycle – Check! Cycling equipment from Eiger Adventure – Check! Donated books from Gramedia – Check! Feeling of unreality – Double Check! So our lovely friends at Bike2Work; Lucy and Tense in particular have been invaluable in helping us secure these huge companies. If I were to ask Lucy why she helped me, she would invariable say, "I don't know what you're talking about, I didn't help you." My usual response is to throw my hands up in the air and acquiesce. The Gramedia group will donate 100 books however BikeJava would like it distributed. The plan is: 20 books to the conservation group in Sukabumi, hopefully we can get some English learning or environment-related books; 70 books to SMPN3 Batujajar on English language learning or English language story books, hopefully; 10 books to the after-school art program in Yogyakarta - art books would be awesome.

Flashback to Non-Memories.
A couple weeks ago, Eiger invited us to their warehouse/factories in Bandung to pick out our equipment. This part of the story will be told in pictures since I could not make it.
