I’m back in Jakarta today! For those of you in Indonesia you should really check out the Bike to Work scene, I’m currently sitting in Rumah Sepeda Indonesia, RSI, a giant three story place dedicated to bicycles… AH Mazing. There is wireless internet and no shortage of wonderful people to hang out with, and you can crash here anytime. Truly it’s my home away form home (Away from home?). And when I say wonderful people, I am talking the kind of folks that renew your faith in humanity, those who dedicate themselves to make the world better… for real! Bike enthusiasts in one of the worlds largest and most polluted cities, bagus sekali!
This morning I met with Dr. Varkah, it was great to touch base with the clinic. (Insert shameless plug, imagine an enthusiastic announcer’s voice) So keep those donations coming in folks!! A little can go a long way! (back to the blog) It’s such an exciting feeling when a project comes to life like this, so many people work together to make something truly magical happen. I had no idea what was in store two months ago when Mark casually mentioned his desire to bike across Java, “Mau iku?” “Mungkin..” LOL! Now we’re going strong!

So 3 days to go and I’m in Surabaya!! Panas Sekali! I just popped down here for a quick job interview then it’s back to RSI. My last week in Bandung was a whirlwind, biking around the city with Mas Wang, performing Jaipongan with my bright blue hair, yes like a smurf… but alas it is back to dark dark DARK brown (job interview), saying goodbye to my beloved MANSABA, and finishing up with Blunder, ( a crazy two hour improv/ dance/ music/ exhibition!) Whew…
Now I have an offer on the table, an elementary school in here Surabaya, I would start in Mid August…hmm…decisions. But first and foremost it’s time to get back on a plane and get myself on a bicycle!! I can’t think of a better place to do my thinking.
